Contact Lenses Have Many Advantages Over Glasses PDF Print E-mail

Men and women, from around the world rely on their contact lenses to see the world around them. Many people would rather wear contacts than eyeglasses, and for obvious reasons. Eyeglasses can irritate the pupils and can cause a painful indent on the bridge of the nose. Contacts, unlike glasses, are not easily detectable. Glasses, can take away from the rest of the face because the first thing a person notices is the eyeglasses on a person's face.

Many people resent the bookish appearance eyeglasses conveys and would rather wear contacts. Most men and women have no problem switching from glasses to contacts. The first step, is to visit one's optometrist, and ask to be fitted with contacts.

One of the staff at the optometrist office will demonstrate how to properly insert and remove the contacts, and demonstrate how to clean and store the contacts. Many people, who have worn glasses for years, are surprised how their peripheral vision is greatly enhanced when wearing contacts. Peripheral vision is crucial when it comes to driving a car, and many people who go from glasses to contacts report they have more confidence behind the wheel.

People who wear a corrective contact lens can move their head around, even in quick movements, and not have to adjust the position of the corrective lens. But, people who wear glasses have to be constantly adjusting their frames each time they turn their head or look down at the ground or up at the sky. People, who play sports such as tennis or basketball, find that the lens is much more practical to wear than eyeglasses.

The contact lenses stay in place even if an individual is taking a shower, swimming at the beach, or frolicking in the pool. The disposable lens is a relatively new type of contact, and is perfect for the person who wants to simply discard the lens after using. Rather than cleaning and storing the lens, the disposable contacts are thrown out, and new ones are inserted.

People with blue eyes can have brown eyes, and people with brown eyes can have green eyes, simply by changing the shade of their contacts. A person can change the color of her eyes to match her mood, or her dress. People have a lot of fun changing their eye color to match their outfit or even the time of the year.

One of the main complaints that eyeglass wearers have is that glasses tend to fog up in cold weather. However, corrective lenses never fog up in cold weather. One will never see someone having to take out her contacts and wipe the moisture off, as one would have to when wearing glasses.

People from all over the world prefer wearing contact lenses over eyeglasses, and for many good reasons. Glasses are cumbersome and leave indentations around the bridge of the nose. Glasses are affected by inclement weather, whereas contacts never fog up. Contacts come in different shades for the person who wants to make a fashion statement with her eyes.
