Acne is not a skin condition that teenagers suffer from today, there are many adults who also suffer from this particular skin complaint as well. Luckily for these people there are now plenty of different treatments available to help deal with this problem and although effective some do contain chemicals which could be harmful to ones skin. This is certainly one of the main reasons why so many people are now choosing to use natural ways of treating this particular skin condition today. There are plenty of good quality natural acne treatments one can now use that do not contain chemicals which are harsh or dangerous on ones skin. Although many people do not actually feel that natural acne treatments are not as effective as those you can purchase over the counter or prescribed by a doctor. This is simply not the case and in fact the majority of natural treatments for this skin condition are in fact very effective indeed. One natural treatment for acne that has proved to be very effective is tea tree oil. This oil is a golden color and is distilled using steam from the leaves from a number of different plants. In fact for many centuries now the people indigenous to Australia have been using tea tree oil not only for its medicinal properties but as a cosmetic as well. The oil once distilled contains good anti-bacterial properties which allow it to help kill off the bacteria that results in acne forming under ones skin. However, this particular treatment because of its acidic qualities should never be applied to the skin in undiluted form. What one should do is mix one part of tea tree oil to 20 parts of water and then apply it directly to the area of skin that is affected by the acne. Because this particular natural product has proven to be effective at treating acne some companies who produce acne treatments are replacing the more common benzoyl peroxide with it. Certainly it has the same qualities as the chemical has but is far less harmful on ones skin. For those with sensitive skin using a tea tree oil based acne treatment is far gentler for their skin and less likely to cause it to dry out when being used. However, if you want to not only treat the acne but also help to improve the condition of your skin overall a product that contains both tea tree oil and Aloe Vera would be a good choice. Along with tea tree oil another natural ingredient which is considered to be one of the best acne treatments now available is the spice turmeric. This particular treatment for acne cannot only be applied directly to the affected area of skin, but can be taken orally as well. This natural acne treatment contains antiseptic properties which again can help to kill off the bacterium causing your acne. If you want to take this natural treatment for acne orally, the best way to do so is mix some into a cup of warm milk. When it comes to applying the turmeric directly to the skin first make up a smooth creamy paste using some coconut or sesame oil then apply on the areas of your skin affected by the acne. It is best to allow it to remain on your skin overnight and so apply about twenty minutes before you go to bed. The next morning you will be amazed at the difference in the size of your acne spots and how much they have been reduced by.
