The air that we breathe in our homes can be often saturated with undesirable elements. Some of these pollutants can include viruses, bacteria, dust mites, pet dander, etc. Inhaling these harmful substances and organisms can be detrimental to our health. Electrostatic air purifiers tend to be less expensive, in the long run. It is more expensive in the original purchase. However, you will save, in the long run, because you don't have to buy replacement filters. Replacement filters can be quite expensive and inconvenient to replace. Keep in mind, that the ion charged plates need to be cleaned regularly for maximum performance.

Hepa and electrostatic air purification are both effective. Hepa has one distinct advantage in that it doesn't produce ozone. Too much ozone is not good to breath and some electrostatic air purifiers have been know to produce excess ozone. All things considered, a hybrid electrostatic (Hepa and electrostatic combined) is a prefered air purification method.

Unlike standard air purifiers, electrostatic air purifiers do not rely on standard filtration methods. Electrostatic air purifiers are designed to work without the use of messy filters that must be changed on a regular basis. Electrostatic air purifiers instead use steel rods to capture the undesirable particles in the air; this means that the rods must be cleaned. However, this is more environmentally friendly since there is nothing to throw away. Maintenance is as simple as a quick rinse to have your electrostatic air purifier working at full capacity again.

Natural smelling air is a much-desired trait Some air purifiers leave the air with a strange smell; an electrostatic air purifier, however, leaves the air smelling clean and pure with no strange scents. An electrostatic air purifier accomplishes this by removing the particles and pollutants from the air, and trapping them into the steel rods that filter the air.
