Some people drink because they think they can drink and forget their troubles. The trouble is alcohol is a depressant. It hurts not helps. So many die every year in alcohol related accidents. And the toll it puts on your body is just not worth the risk.

Your weight, age, sex and meal consumption can all play part in how alcohol effects each person. Not everyone has the same effect even if they drank the same amount. Alcohol enters the bloodstream via the stomach and is then absorbed by all of the tissue in your body.

The mild and moderate effects of alcohol are usually seen more socially. Yu may become less inhibited talking more or louder. You may also get a little dizzy, what many call a buzz. Excessive use is more physical. Slurred speech, impaired physical ability, vomiting and sleep disturbance.

After a night of drinking you could wake up with an ol fashion hangover. A hangover is the pesky results of a night of alcohol consumption. It can cause nausea, headache, fatigue, achy muscles and dehydration symptoms such as excessive thirst.

Alcoholism is a very serious problem and can be debilitating to the abuser. When an abuser quits drinking they can suffer horrible withdraws just like any drug. Tremors and anxiety are 2 of the milder symptoms. More severe withdraws can be hallucinations and convulsions.

The prolonged use of alcohol can be very damaging to vital organs. The liver and brain can be impacted significantly. The damage can be irreversible. If a pregnant women drinks her baby could get fetal alcohol syndrome which can cause severe mental retardation and abnormalities.

I hope that by knowing the facts and what all drinking alcohol can do to you both physically and emotionally that you can make a wise decisions about drinking. It is best to limit alcohol consumption to a minimum and not at all if you are at risk for abusing.
