You can find several gout cures. Some are medicinal and others are natural. The natural cures are used by people who wish to try out different methods for relief. Read below to find out some methods you can use to treat your gout.

One of the most popular natural gout cures is wild cherries. People living in the western hemisphere have plenty of access to cherries while others prefer to drink cherry juice.

However, not everyone can get their hands on cherries. Those who can't then resort to other remedies. One of those gout cures is charcoal.

Charcoal has been known to drastically lessen the effects of gout and even eliminate it altogether. One can easily eat charcoal mixed with water (but it is recommended to consult with your doctor before doing this) or simply take a charcoal bath. A charcoal bath can be easily prepared by mixing charcoal powder in a basin of warm water. Then dip the afflicted foot inside the basin, wait for about an hour, and then dry it.

As with many afflictions, the best way to reduce your risk of gout is by eating healthily and exercising regularly. Without exercise, your blood circulation remains slow and that can accelerate gout; therefore, it's important to have an active lifestyle.

Drinking lots of water is one of the best gout cures. This is because water naturally flushes out the toxic uric acid that builds up in the blood stream and produces the crystals that cause all that pain during a gout attack.

There are also over-the-counter medications that can be used as gout cures in case of an attack. There is Febuxostat, which has recently been approved by the US FDA. Cortisone is also used in case of an acute attack.

Balance any protein-rich eating habits with fruits, greens, and lots of fluids; otherwise, you'll only be helping yourself receive an increased risk for gout. Limit the red and animal organ meats and eat foods higher in fiber, fruits, veggies, and turkey and chicken instead. A diet high in red meat but low in vegetables is a recipe for gout disaster.
