The plumbing under the counter is where the under the counter water filters are attached directly, as against a direct connection with the faucet that some other water filters of the portable kind have. Not only does an under the counter water filter provide a tap with clean water in the form of a constant supply, it also does not have to be turned off or on and remains out of sight. The parts required for the installation of an under the counter water filter and the instructions that are relevant are generally supplied along with the filter system. The cold water tap and the main water tap have to be connected with the under the counter water filter through a feed line, even as a there is no requirement for a separate drain line. Compared with the water filters that can be attached with taps, under the counter water filters require considerably more work in terms of installation. Becuase of the transparent operation of the under the counter filter system and its being quite unobtrusive, in addition to the space that it helps save on the counter, after installation, it is preferred by many people. In order to install it, a plumber may be called upon or some homeowners may decide to install it on their own, usually within a period of time that does not exceed 1 hour. The cover is replaced after replacing the cartridge. This follows the installed cartridge having been replaced with a new one, subsequent to the unscrewing of the cover. Simple tasks, therefore, need to be performed in this regard, after the fitting of the under the counter water filter system, under the sink. At regular intervals, the under the counter water filter system requires cartridge replacement, just like other systems for filtration of water. While installing an under the counter water filter system, the warm and cold pipes can be identified distinctly by touching these. The hot tap may be kept running for a couple of minutes so that the process of identification becomes easy, if immediate location of the pipe being looked for is difficult. For installation, identification of the pipe through which cold water is being fed to the tap is necessary, by looking under the sink. The nut at the base has to be tightened after the clamp has been fitted over the mounting block and the pipe. Taking into account the pipe's diameter, the appropriate side has to be selected, while setting the small mounting block of the clamp on to the pipe. Tubing is attached to the device resembling a small valve, known as saddle valve. The saddle valve clamping device has to be installed on a section of the pipe, after making sure that there is no obstruction or corrosion. The re-assembled housing of the filter has to be mounted on to the bracket, after installation of the cartridge. The cartridge may simply have to be placed appropriately or to be screwed in. The cartridge has to be installed on to the housing of the filter. The housing bracket of the filter has to be mounted on to the cabinet, at a suitable location, making use of the screws that are supplied with the system. The copper pipe has to be pierced by turning the T-bar handle fully in the clockwise direction. The tube's red end has to be placed in a receptacle, like a bucket, before that. The water flows to the tap, through the filter housing, from the red tube, after the T-bar of the saddle valve is turned anti-clockwise. The under the counter water filter's housing's output side is connected to the blue tube from the tap. Installation of the tap and the tubing related to it precedes that, along with the connection of the red tube in the bucket with the input side of the filter housing. The drinking water tap or the faucet for the under the counter water filter system is installed, after drilling a hole in the sink or worktop, at a location that is appropriate.
