Obviously, you'll need to purchase a new toilet so as to replace an old one. Make sure you measure the space where your current toilet is located and plan to buy a new toilet which will fit into this space. You will need to get one or two other supplies too depending on the project. You might need a new flange or a new wax ring for you toilet. Be certain you buy a flange and ring that's the proper size for your toilet.



Call a chum to help remove your old toilet and get the new toilet ready. Toilets are rather heavy objects and they have to be situated exactly, so its best to have somebody help you with this project. Incidentally dropping the toilet could crack and ruin it.



First, take away the old toilet. Set it to the side. Replace the flange and the wax ring, if required. Finally, you'll have to attach the shut-off valve and supply pipe to your new toilet. This is an important part of the john installation process because the supply pipe supplies water to the tank on your toilet. Once you've successfully connected the water supply to your toilet, your toilet installation is complete. The new toilet is now installed.
