I shall in brief list a few points that you must look for when wanting to purchase a chainsaw.

Chainsaw Reviews: Types of Chainsaw

Electric
If you are heading for using your chainsaw in the house, as an example in a garage or a workshop environment, then, when looking at chainsaw reviews, look for an electric one. Also, chainsaws that are run on gas are likely to quiver a little more than electric ones which will enable control of the chainsaw whilst cutting.

Gas
Since you will not use electric chainsaws externally, gas ones are used for this, and in lousy weather situations too, rain and snow. Even so, they do weigh more and require more attention to keep than their electric relatives. They are loud and leak out gases and the user will need to blend oil and gas. You also must ensure that the gas is placed anywhere protected and that it's clean.

Cordless
These types are the least noisy and the much maneuverable, and good for trimming or cutting little tree limbs. However, for the vast majority of users, it's a useful extra instead of a main saw.

Chainsaw Reviews: What to Look for in a Chainsaw

You should be looking for a protective cover for the chain when the saw is not being used, but you can get these cheaply anyway,
Most consumer-grade chainsaws have standard kickback features,
A trigger lock with a deadman feature,
Chain breaks that are usually activated by inertia,
An anti-vibration carry to help stop long term hand accidental injuries,
For gas chainsaws, keep an eye out for a primer bulb and decompression valve,
For electric chainsaws, get one with a circuit breaker inbuilt,
A sharp chain will give excellent cutting potential and speed.
When looking at chainsaw reviews, make sure you then make investments properly in safety tools, it's far better to have a half good chainsaw and superior safety precautions than vice-versa and wind up wounding yourself.

I really hope you find these suggestions helpful and find the chainsaw you are looking for when searching chainsaw reviews.
