Futons bunk beds have been a preferred of college students dorm rooms in addition to other town living rooms for decades. Futon bunk beds are smart, useful, and adaptable; they may possibly be included into virtually any background. A lot of people are unaware that futon beds originated in Japan. For centuries, Japanese people have slept on thin futon mattresses placed directly on the floor. They saw no precondition to have a complicated bed with a frame and box spring and headboard. All that these early futons involved was the thin mattress, small pillows, and a blanket. In the morning, the futon bed can be rolled up and put in a cupboard. In due course, the thought of sleeping on futon beds reached to America as well.

Modern futon bunk beds are a wonderful combination of functionality, comfort, and design. Far from simply being two beds, the bottom bunk is actually a Futon that can be change easily from a bed to a couch. This is a favorite with college students who wish to conserve as much space in their room as possible. By having your bed that also act as your couch; you dont have to buy a separate couch, thereby leaving a lot more floor space available. The comfortable futon can be used for relaxing, watching television, studying, or just hanging out. You can also increase usefulness of this bunk bed to its limit by purchasing the optional drawers or tumble bed.

Contemporary futons often have adjustable frames and can be used as either a couch or a bed, depending on how the frame is arranged. The frames are usually made of colored metal, but can be wooden as well. Futon beds do not needed to be folded out like couch beds; all the sleeper needs to do is push the back of the frame from the upright couch position to a horizontal bed position. These setups are comfortable in either the couch or bed position and are great for accommodating overnight guests.

Modern models of futon mattresses are thicker than the original Japanese models. They are often filled with wool, polyester, cotton, or soft man made fibers. They do not have the springs that conventional beds have. A normal mattress can become uncomfortable over time if the springs do not hold up well to pressure. This is not a problem with futons because most of them have no springs.

Futon bunk beds like Twin Over Futon Bunk Bed in Natural - Cinnamon have changed to a great extent over time. From their initial stages as simple space saving Japanese beds to their current versatile models, they are a great option to usual beds.
