Different types of pavers can be used for driveways and sidewalks and more. The pavers are very sturdy and do not crack as cement does when the earth moves or settles. They are made in oblong, hexagon, octagon, diamond, square and rectangle shapes. Flagstone is also a block paver that is used indoors and out. It does not absorb heat and will not crack in areas of frost or snow. It makes a perfect driveway or is great in areas with high traffic. It is low maintenance and can last more than 30 years without repairs. It comes in many shapes that may include diamond, spectrum, rectangles, squares and hexagon to name a few. Different types of pavers can be used for driveways and sidewalks to create interesting designs. With the clay brick pavers, there are some standard designs that are cost effective and not too complicated for the contractor to lay. This needs to be kept in mind when creating a pattern. Some patterns used that are common are basket weave, herringbones, and stretcher bond. The herringbone pattern is great for driveways as it can withstand heavy loads.
