With the wealth of information available to do with growing Bonsai trees, the novice can be quite overwhelmed. That may lead to you throwing your hands in the air and putting it in the too hard basket! However it is not as complicated as it seems. Start with a good reliable source of Bonsai supplies and jump in the water is fine!

Its more than just a skill to grow beautiful ongoing Bonsai, its an artform. But need to learn those skills before you can call yourself a master of the art. One of the necessary steps in the process is to use supplies that are of good quality. If your supplies are inferior it wont help your efforts to achieve the results you're aiming for.

With the right supplies readily available, this is one area of your project that is already taken care of. Now you can concentrate on the job at hand and not be limited by a lack of the proper Bonsai supplies, be that soil mix, fertiliser, tools, wire or whatever is necessary to do the job!

So what are the proper supplies? Simply tools and supplies that are of good quality and appropriate for the job that needs doing. The last thing you want is for your tree not to flourish because because the soil was not free draining enough or you cause a wound on the tree due to blunt and rusty shears.

You may think that it is not that important but I bet your plants would disagree with you.

I am not suggesting for a moment that a beautiful result hinges on you having the best of everything on hand and ready to go. It does help, but what is more important is the practising of the techniques over time. If you want to learn then you can learn and over time you will master the art.

The odd failure is inevitable, but the successes are what will spur you on. Its the satisfaction and delight of transforming a tree that would normally be huge into a mature bonsai tree that will now be tiny. That's a feeling that will carry you along to the next project.

Your Bonsai supplies will then be just another addition to your library of knowledge on the subject. If someone asks you about how to grow Bonsai you will be able to answer with authority as you will know what works and what doesn't.
