By referring other representatives, who refer other reps, and the process continues a number of levels deep, you have the chance of attaining a large downline, which can guarantee lucrative residual monthly income, despite the economic downturn. That is how powerful leverage is. When your downline gets large enough, you gain financial freedom.

How do you make it happen? How do you get your first referral? The first key to remember is the name is network marketing. It is not selling marketing. Hang out with like minded people and get your mind off selling and onto networking.

Try to be helpful to other people. Whatever you do; don't act like those vagrants who you always see hanging around stores, asking everybody if they have any change they can spare. You don't realize it, but when you start telling people about your program right after you just met them, they are looking at you like you are one of the vagrants demanding to hold a quarter. Instead of trying to sell them, do something nice for them, even if it is just finding a compliment to give them. Provide value. Heck, tell a funny story. Share something inspirational. If you have something you can teach them that they are looking to learn, then do that. Given time, you are going to be viewed in an entirely different light than ninety percent of the crowd.

Other people will start to trust you, like you and feel like the know you. People tend to do business with the people they trust, like and know. After those feelings have been given the chance to develop, that is when you will see if they want to check out your presentation. They will be a lot more open this way.
