Rain- seems like that's what we got for the majority summer! At what point did New York and Seattle trade places and I had no idea? Being that rain was the lead topic of discussion for the majority of us in this part of the States at the beginning of the summer, it does call to mind a lesson on Branding I learned from one Dr. Ben Mack which occurred last year. Over the next few articles or so I will endeavor to cover some of the most important parts of this presentation which was comprised of three key sections: 1) Making lightning Strike, 2) Keeping the Lightning Striking and 3) Bottling your lightning. In case your not acquainted who Bejamin Mack is, he is one of the foremost powers that be on Branding right now in the USA. He is considered legendary in certain Ad agency circles for this work. Over the years Ben has held tenure some of the most recognized advertizing agencies aorund and held position of Vice President for Brand strategy for a very large corporation. In a nut shell what that means is he was in charge of a budget of " billion dollars (now thats big money)! To me that indicates someone who is an authority on Branding, don't you agree? As well as being a professional magician, Ben Mack has worked magic for many companies over the years, and at age 19 was the receiver of the celebrated (if your into magic) Award of Merit given by the Magic Castle. So, what is a Rainmaker and why do we want to turn out to be one? a Rainmaker, aside from the obvious inference of an indian medicine man or shaman who uses his "magic" bring about a good harvest, is a person with uncanny ability to attract customers, use political clout and enhance a corporation's earnings. However, with the rain also follows the the lightning! I will get into this more later. As an internet Marketer your chief duty is to "up sell" individuals on their perception of reality. In Ben Macks book "Think Two Products Ahead" he speaks of how effective branding only occurs when companies think two products ahead rather then thinking just for the moment and for them to assemble thriving affiliations with their clients by means of their Brand The section in the book where Ben talks about creating your Legend Platform is just fantastic! A Brand (your brand, a Brand called YOU) is constructed through the use of Legends or communication that is told over and over time and time again. These stories can and should be allowed to challenge each other and absolutely will grow with age. So, if you're going to pick a story that you craft for your business to help increase the size of your business (after all you are reading articles like this to help you become more profitable in your business arent you?) why not pick the type that grows stronger with age and you will indeed become "Legendary".
