Microfiber itself has become a very popular choice in couches and chairs due to the luxurious look and feel of the fabric. The fabric is very soft and is sewn very close together giving it that look of suede or even leather. Because the fibers are woven so close together, it can withstand some water on the surface however it is not suggested that using water to clean is a good idea.

Never use soap and water on the cloth. The soap will help to absorb some of the oils of the stain, but the water will have an adverse effect and cause the area that absorbs water to become hard and no longer soft to the touch. This fabric is great for spills because most often it will bead up and can be taken off with a paper towel.

Using a product that is specifically suggested for microfiber is the best case scenario in the removal of the stain. Once this is done, if the spot in which was stained becomes hard looking or hard to the touch, one can use an old toothbrush or soft scrubbing brush to remove the hard or rough area.

If you own this type of furniture but have not yet got around to buying the proper cleaner and a spill happens, any clear alcohol will help remove the stain until the proper stain remover can be purchased.

All in all, this fabric brings a great and luxurious feeling to almost any home decor while still being affordable. Even though one may envy the leather and suede, this will do the job without breaking the bank.
