A reference or recommendation letter is a crucial factor in the hiring process since most employers greatly base their judgment on the letter's case. Sadly though, there have been wide speculations about these letters that improperly judges the maid. If you belong to the skeptic group of employees, here are the appropriate actions to take when a maid or agency issues the letter to you.

Never assume or judge. Even criminals are given the opportunity to defend themselves in court. There are kind-hearted agencies out there. There are innocent and hard working maids too. A reference or recommendation letter is always written with good intentions, for the maid to get a job. Some employers actually do want the best for their maids and recourse to giving good grades.

Investigate on the Facts. Always think that you have a way to verify the facts through the references. Investigate on the maid's past work history based on the employer's honest opinion or some government records. After all, there are maids who readily give the contact numbers of their references; this is to your advantage.

Be Smart on the Interview. Put your standards into the test by addressing your doubts into the interview. What were the most notable facts in the letter? Try verifying them again. When the maid answer's the question, just observe closely on how she answers them. Was she consistent? Did she felt nervous? Use your gut and you'll never go wrong.

The house maid will always be thankful to you just by welcoming her letter, there's no harm either in doing so. For the sake of humanity, let her go should there be something for the maid to be guilty about. Otherwise, be objective and give her due process she deserves. No matter what happens, feel free to decide anyway, with what your paying for, you deserve the best after all.
