Studies have shown that biodiesel production is set to grow to approximately 124 million gallons per annum

Lye is a main ingredient used in soap; you can usually find it in the cleaning section at most convenience stores, or purchase online

You can purchase methanol from the local hardware store, or if you have a go kart track nearby, you can ask there

While making a test batch can be done using a simple blender, you will need a proper biodiesel processor as your biodiesel production increases. A processor can either be made or brought.

Converting vegetable oil into biodiesel is known as Transesterification. The fatty chains of vegetable oil are bound together by a by-product known as glycerine. The object here is to mix the lye and methanol with the oil, using the lye to break the bond, and the methanol to take the place of the glycerine
