The most crucial part of your plans is the actual date of the wedding. You have to set the date before you do anything else. Many things figure into selecting a date and include: is the location available you desire to get married in, and are all your friends and family open to coming on that date.

It is recommended to have a budget of what you can afford before you start planning. This will enable you to organize all your plans around your budget.

Many of the venues that do weddings, will make certain days discounted, on days that are not usually busy. The time of the day can often influence the price too. Many times the places will charge less for morning or afternoon weddings compared to evening weddings.

Also certain venues could be cheaper depending on the time of the year. Right after the holidays sometimes can be a good time to save on the price of a venue. This is not usually a peak time of the year for weddings, and that leads to the price being lower.

It's important to talk to your fianc?e about the size of your wedding. Your dream wedding might not be your fianc?e's. So it's necessary for you to discuss details such as the location of the venue/reception, the number of people who get invited to the wedding/reception, and the choice of entertainment.

You need to agree on how many guests are on the list. You need to know if you want a small intimate wedding, or a large affair with all the friends of the family. If you want a real grand affair, it will include family and friends, relatives you have not seen for years, everyone in the neighborhood, and even high school friends need to be invited. As you are making your guest list, think about the space that your desired location has available for your reception.

You may want your special moments on your wedding day to be captured forever by a professional. You might have friends that have good home equipment for pictures, even a video camera. But for your wedding day you may want better photos that are presented nicely for your keeping. This is also a good way for your family and friends to get copies too.

You need to order a wedding cake too! Before ordering though you need to taste it to make sure it is what you want. Have your friends or your family try it too. This could be a joyous outing for all!

Order wedding invitations. If you want to get creative, you can always print your own. This way, you can customize them, and add a more personal touch to the invitation.

Don't forget to start looking for a wedding gown months before the wedding so the bride has plenty of time to make a selection. Also, the groom should make arrangements to rent or buy a tuxedo preferably in advance in case there is trouble with the fitting.

If you do not have the time or the patience to do all the planning, you can hire the services of a wedding planner. You get everything organized and coordinated for you. If you decide to do this, you will have to plan the expense of the wedding planner in your budget.
