They do this in several ways but mainly by barking incessantly and chewing destructively. They typically attack shoes and clothing but may also gnaw at other random items around the home. Providing a Poodle with the proper Poodle care is very important, and essential to ensuring that they are as happy and healthy as possible. It is important that owners realize that there is much more to Poodle care than just walking and feeding them.

Bathing can easily be considered as one of the most important elements of Poodle care in general. Especially because they have such a long and unique coat, the Poodle's fur needs to be thoroughly washed on a regular basis, at least once a week.

This will keep their fur from matting and getting tangled, and also make sure that they do not get dry skin or Poodle allergies. Poodle allergies might appear if harsh detergent shampoos as used for bathing. Chemical scents and coloring should also be avoided.

One of the most important steps here is to choose the right shampoo for the dog. There are many great dog shampoos available these days and human shampoo should never be used on a dog especially not a Poodle because it will dry out their skin and possibly even give them dandruff. It is important to make sure that all the shampoo and conditioner is rinsed out before they get out of the tub to prevent dry scalp and Poodle allergies as well. Poodles also need to be properly fluff dried after each bath.

Foods, even those that have been ingested for years, can suddenly cause Poodle allergies. Dogs two to six years of age are more likely to have food allergies than other ages. People often confuse food intolerances that cause diarrhea and vomiting with food allergies that cause dry itchy skin. This is why most food allergies are diagnosed as fleabite reactions or just a dry skin condition.

Many foods such as meats, preservatives, milk and grains such as corn and soy can cause Poodle allergies and treatment usually consists of eliminating foods from the diet one at a time until the culprit food is found and removed from the diet.

If someone in your family has allergies to dog dander you might want to consider getting a Poodle. This breed is the least likely to cause allergic reactions in humans. They do require a great deal of grooming, but their special coats are the reason some people will own no other pet.
