Within this number, there is a same amount of percentage of infertility issues affected both men and women, which is 40% respectively. 20% of the 6.1 million people are related to unknown causes to infertility.

There is various length of causes of women infertility. Causes such as ovarian and ovulation problems, tube or peritoneal causes, hypothalamic-pituitary causes, cervical, vaginal and uterine problems, and genetic causes are specific causes that are affecting women fertility worldwide.

Internal causes affecting infertility.

Disease such as diabetes, thyroid or other defects to the kidneys and liver are some of the general physiology factors affecting women infertility. Besides physical, modern women should take note on psychological or mental problems can also be a cause of infertility to them. Women that are suffering from ovarian and ovulation disorder are said not to ovulate at all, or simple ovulate irregularly, compared to the normal ovulation during the 28-day cycle.

Another ovarian causes like polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), ovarian neoplasm, diminished ovarian reserve, luteal dysfunction, premature menopauses and Turner syndrome are causing infertility to most women. It simply prevents the release of a mature egg from the ovaries, or having hormonal imbalances, or the reproduction of eggs with chromosomal defects. There are also tube or peritoneal factors that are causing the infertility to many females. It is the uterine lining (the endometrial tissue) growing outside the uterus or it is unprepared for egg implantation, blockage of the fallopian tubes which prevents an egg from traveling to the uterus.

Infertility factors such as Hypothalamic-pituitary, including the common hypopituitarism, hyperprolactinemia, kallmann syndrome and other hypothalamic dysfunctions are among the next causes of infertility among women.

Problems from the cervical, vaginal and uterine could be one of the cause of infertility.

Sperms not able to travel to the tubes and vaginismus due to vaginal obstruction. This problem will cause infertility. Other than vaginal problems, there are cervical problems which include the side effects of anti-sperm antibodies, insufficient cervical mucus which is needed for the sperm to travel and survive.

Since we are now more aware of the internal causes of infertility, it is now to discuss what are the external causes of infertility. Using too much cosmetic products which contain chemicals, taking in alcohol, food preservatives and additives such as monosodium glutamate (MSG), spraying pesticides, using other anti-conceiving human hormones, coffee, cigarette or tobacco smoke, and many more.
