The almost unsafe time in your life, when you are most likely to be assailed is when you are traveling in an unfamiliar area.

Tourists are the popular target of the hobgoblins of the world for the following reasons:

They are good to spot. Tourists make the slip of not blending in, wearing clothes that stand out. Shorts in a clime where everyone else is tiring pants. Fresh clothes with bright colors. A camera around the neck, and a mostly lost looking on the face.

Tourists make the slip of flaunting wealth. They wear pricy jewelry, and carry large amounts of cash.

Tourists are taken to be rich. People in most third world areas do not have the money to trip. So they think that anyone who can travel must be rich. They often resent that imagined wealth, and are willing to take bruising action to take it from tourists.

So, what is the answer? Never traveling to new areas? No, that would be an special way to live your life. Travel is fun and exciting, and no matter what the achievable threats are, you shouldn't let a few dirt-bags smash your fun.

The key is to keep off inconvenience by not lasting out as a lost, vulnerable tourist.

Take about the area you will be moving to. The more good you are with the new region, the more assured you will be as you stroll down the street. Use the Cyberspace to get maps of the area, and info on the sights you want to visit. Find out as much as you can about the finish of the people you will be visiting. Your primary goal is to blend in.

Find out what people usually wear in the region you will be bringing down.

Hopefully you will already have similar garments. It is best not to wear mark new dress.

Move with a group if possible. There is strength in numbers for holidaymakers.

Being with a group is particularly important if it is your first time to the new country. A tour group is a great way to go because the tour guide will only take you to countries that are "safe" for tourists. Do not speculation out on your own, unless you know for particular the area you are going to see is comparatively safe. Stay in the neighbourhoods that are set up for tourists.

Take arming yourself with weapons that can be carried on general bearers. A good solid three foot walking stick is an example. A goblin would think twice before trying anything with you having such a weapon.

Don't carry cash. Use credit cards, or travelers checks. If they are stolen, you can get them interchanged.Don't influence fate. Even if you think you are in a very safe area, do not leave valuables out in plain sight. Some desperate people might try to kill you in order to get your valuables.

By using the said constructs you should be fit to have a good, pleasurable trip with little chance of being assaulted.
