The new idea in Orange County, California, is to stay at home and enjoy our weather, our surroundings, our places to visit and our home.

We here, in Southern California are very lucky in respect to our weather and the beautiful scenery. We live in a resort! How lucky is that? No where else in the world can we have more. We have it all!

Think out of the box this year ... try staying home instead of spending your money on an out-of-town vacation. Why not create a vacation-like atmosphere in the privacy of your own space? Something you will be able to enjoy for a long time -- a staycation.

Entertaining has never been easier. We can call out and have catered dinners, luncheons and even brunches. We can call out for a masseuse or an esthetician to come right to our homes to give us a massage or facial. We work hard and we deserve anything we want. Read a good book, go to the local concerts or a play. With gas and airfares going up and the hassle and bustle of it all, it makes perfect sense to have a staycation.

Instead of rushing around, trying to see everything possible in your precious one or two weeks of vacation, why not just stay home? Enjoy your relationships ... your family, your friends. Take your time, and slow down a bit.

We long to be with our children, friends and family members and while it would be nice to take everyone with you on vacation, it seems like it might be wiser (and chances are even more fun) just to stay in your own home, relaxing in your own "5 Star Retreat"! What a great idea!

Do you really want to spend your "after vacation time" rushing around catching up on laundry, restocking the refrigerator and trying to merge back into the routine of work? What if you didn't have to?

Why not check out the service of a professional interior designer for some terrific creative ideas? What would it be like to walk into your bath in the morning to find a resort-style spa instead of the boring tile, tired towels and tiny shower? And what if your living room were full of eclectic furnishings that invite you to relax or entertain at a whim?

So before, making your vacation plans, give some thought to staying home for vacation. Plan your vacation at home ... who would you like to see? What would you like to do?
